Expanding Racking Inspection, Training and Maintenance Expertise
In November 2025, Ian and Anthony attended the Storage Equipment Manufacturers Association (SEMA) premises in Burntwood, Staffordshire.
We’re pleased to announce that we have successfully passed our SEMA qualification, marking an important step forward in the services we offer at UK Rack Inspection.

This latest qualification strengthens our existing SEMA Approved Racking Inspector (SARI) status, which both Ian and Anthony have held for a number of years.
With a combined industry experience of nearly 50 years between them, it builds on decades of practical knowledge gained through inspection, maintenance, and real-world warehouse environments — allowing us to deliver an even higher standard of service to our clients.

Why Did We Take This Next Step?
Quite simply: to raise the bar.
For many years, UK Rack Inspection has delivered SEMA and HSE-compliant racking inspections, alongside high-quality training for those responsible for racking safety. Achieving this additional SEMA qualification allows us to confidently extend that expertise into formal racking maintenance training, delivered fully in line with recognised industry standards.
This means we are now qualified not only to inspect racking systems, but also to train others in the correct replacement and repair of racking components, including beams, bracing, and uprights.
Importantly, this training is based on a recognised framework — not just experience — ensuring maintenance work is carried out correctly, safely, and in accordance with manufacturer and SEMA requirements.
Building on Proven PRRS Training
Our People Responsible for Racking Safety (PRRS) awareness and inspection training remains a core part of what we do — and it continues to be extremely popular across a wide range of industries.
Over the years, we’re proud to have trained thousands of individuals to carry out effective in-house racking inspections using SEMA’s Red, Amber, Green damage classification system. While racking damage assessment is often more nuanced than a simple traffic-light approach, this training gives organisations the competence and confidence to identify, record, and manage damage correctly, helping to reduce risk and maintain safe operations.
Our new maintenance training takes this one step further, focusing not just on identifying damage, but on how it should be rectified correctly — avoiding temporary fixes, incorrect repairs, or actions that could compromise the integrity of the racking system.

Experience Meets Recognised Standards
Our approach is grounded in hands-on experience. Combined with a detailed understanding of manufacturer requirements and SEMA guidance, this allows us to deliver training that is practical, relevant, and firmly rooted in real warehouse conditions — not just theory in a classroom.
The result is training and inspection work that helps ensure racking systems are maintained as originally designed, preserving structural integrity, maintaining compliance, and supporting safe day-to-day operations.
